Getting paid

Signal Crew Guide · Page 5 of 5

How your earnings add up, what we need before the first payout, and how to get the money into your account.

How earnings work

Open clipping campaigns pay per 1,000 verified views. Invited assignments pay the fixed fee shown in your offer.

Illustrative example only. Not a promise of earnings.

A campaign pays ₹50 per 1,000 views. Your clip gets 40,000 verified views.

40,000 ÷ 1,000 × ₹50 = ₹2,000

Rates, minimum views and caps are different for every campaign — check the campaign page. Many clips will earn less than this, some more. Only verified views count, and the total stops at the campaign cap.

Hold period

Earnings first show as pending. They stay on hold while we verify views and check that the post followed the brief and is still live and labelled. The hold period for each campaign is shown in the app. After that, earnings move to available.

What you need before your first payout

ItemDetails
PANYour own PAN card details. Needed before your first payout.
UPI ID or bank accountMust be in your own name, matching your PAN. We can't pay into a friend's or family member's account.
Minimum payout₹500 available balance. Below that, it simply carries over.

Why we need your PAN

Under Indian income-tax law, we have to deduct tax at source (TDS) on payments for your work and report it to the Income Tax Department against your PAN. The TDS shows up in your Form 26AS / annual tax statement, and you can claim it when you file your return.

For most campaign work, TDS is 10% and starts only once your payments from us cross ₹50,000 in a tax year (April to March). Below that, nothing is deducted. How we classify payments

If we don't have a valid PAN, the law makes us deduct TDS at a much higher rate — generally 20%. Adding your PAN means you keep more of your money. Full details are in our Payouts & Tax terms.

How to request a payout

  1. Open the app and go to Earnings.
  2. Check your available balance is ₹500 or more.
  3. Make sure your PAN and UPI or bank details are added and verified.
  4. Tap Request payout and confirm.
  5. You'll get a confirmation with a payout reference.

Timelines

We aim to pay within 7 working days of your request. Bank holidays and weekends don't count as working days. If it's been longer, email us with your payout reference.

Payout history

Every payout is listed in the app with its date, amount, TDS deducted and a reference number (and a UTR from the bank once it's sent). Keep these for your records and for filing your tax return. If something doesn't match your bank statement, quote the reference when you write to us.
